Atlanta Falcons: Kyle Pitts is officially the new Julio Jones

After a relatively quiet first few weeks for the Atlanta Falcons first-round draft pick, Kyle Pitts has turned his play up to another level, a level that can be compared to the all-time great, Julio Jones.

With the disappointing play of Calvin Ridley, it means everything that Kyle Pitts is performing the way he is. He has been making every play possible, whether catching a clutch one-handed pass or going over the middle, taking a big hit but still holding onto the ball—he is the new star in Atlanta.

Falcons rookie tight end is turning into what Julio Jones was for the team

The Atlanta Falcons are proving that they made the correct choice by taking Kyle Pitts over anyone else, he is showing up in huge ways—especially during the past two games.

Against the Jets, he was the focal point of the offense. He lit the Jets defense up, while also hauling in his first career touchdown in the NFL. It really was the breakout game for him and it seems like he will not be slowing down anytime soon.

Coming off the best game of his young career and also a bye week, it would have been reasonable to expect him to not break his previous career-high stats but he proved that wrong.

He ran right through the Dolphins’ defense by pulling in seven catches for 163 yards. Those are Julio Jones type numbers. Think about all the times Julio went over 160 yards in games. He would simply take over the game, which is the exact thing that Pitts did in Miami.

It was almost like deja vu watching Pitts run down the sideline to catch a long pass or catching a post route for a big gain. The amount of times Falcons fans were able to watch number eleven do that over the past decade is insane, but it seems as if that trend will continue but this time it will come from someone wearing number eight.

There are huge things to come for Kyle Pitts, before we know it he will be the best in the league, much like Julio Jones was.
