The Atlanta Falcons are going to be without Calvin Ridley for the time being and lack a clear number one receiver. Odell Beckham Jr. and the Browns appear to be on the outs and the team is expected to part ways with Odell any time now.

This expected move comes on the heels of Odell’s father releasing a video that was less than glowing on Baker Mayfield.

Fair or not family members are viewed as extensions of the players and their thoughts. Odell’s father bashing Baker was the end for the receiver in Cleveland which one could speculate was the desired result.

Now that Odell Beckham Jr. is set to become available the Atlanta Falcons must aggressively pursue the star receiver

Julio Jones is a Titan and Calvin Ridley is taking time away from the team and football.  Atlanta is now left with Russell Gage, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Tajae Sharpe as their featured receivers. Atlanta should have a bit of desperation about the depth and talent at the receiver position.

This can be fixed by acquiring Odell, who is still an elite receiver in this league. If you watch the tape Odell is often open and still appears just as explosive as he did in his days with Eli Manning and the New York Giants.  While there are many obvious reasons for Atlanta to acquire the receiver here are three that could go overlooked.
