Falcons star tries to recruit Odell Beckham to Atlanta

The news of the day in the NFL has been the Browns decision to release Odell Beckham Jr. after a disappointing tenure in Cleveland, this has brought up the opinion of many Falcons fans on if the team should claim him off waivers.

Certainly, many fans would love to see OBJ in red and black, but it is another story if Terry Fontenot would actually pull the trigger.

There is no doubt, numerous NFL players out there are trying to get Odell to join their respective teams, Cordarrelle Patterson happens to be the one guy in Atlanta doing that exact thing.

Patterson should go and tell Terry Fontenot to pursue OBJ if he makes it to where the Falcons are in the waiver wire.

The one big issue is if Odell would be happy in Atlanta. His dissatisfaction in Cleveland was with the quarterback, Baker Mayfield, and him not throwing the ball to him even when he was wide open.

We all know that it would not be an issue with the Falcons, as Matt Ryan would welcome him with open arms and will do anything to help the team win each and every game. The question is if he would be happy on a team that has not been good so far this year.

If anytime makes sense for Atlanta to bring in a big-time receiver, it would be now, as the team currently has Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus as their top two receivers, Odell would help that out immensely, at least on paper.

With Calvin Ridley out of the picture for an unknown amount of time, if the team feels like they can compete, they must find another receiver, this is the perfect opportunity. Odell has the pedigree and talent, even if he has some question marks.

Odell Beckham Jr. would instantly become the best true wide receiver that plays on the Atlanta Falcons.
