2. Are the Atlanta Falcons still content to sit in neutral or will they be aggressive and try to win now?

A lot of the criticism the Atlanta Falcons front office has received over the last four years has been because of lack of conviction. Are you trying to rebuild or are you trying to win now?  This new regime has been much the same standing pat at the trade deadline.

It isn’t the fact that Atlanta is choosing not to rebuild it has been the fact the front office continues to preach a win-now mentality.  If you are going to preach a win-now mentality you must back this up with moves that give your veteran leaders a chance to win games.

We saw against Washington, New Orleans, and Carolina Atlanta needs a playmaker who can help them put games away. Patterson stepped up against the Saints to give Atlanta a win in the final seconds but he is a utility player who is filling a lot of roles not the number one receiver this team needs.

If Atlanta has Odell I firmly believe they would have beaten Washington and Carolina and their outlook on the season would be much different. Instead, they sit at .500 unsure of what direction their team is headed.

Now you have a chance to determine that direction and send a message to your team at the same time. Claiming Odell not only improves your team greatly it sends a message to every player in your locker room that you believe in this team and are focused on winning right now.
