Koo Dat?! Younghoe and other Falcons come up clutch vs. Saints
Younghoe Koo has done it once again, nailing a field goal to win the Atlanta Falcons the game with time expiring. It was a huge kick—albeit a short kick—that beat the New Orleans Saints in what is proving to be a big game for the Falcons season.
This win has propelled the Falcons into the playoff picture, giving them the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs.
Multiple Atlanta Falcons came up clutch to beat the New Orleans Saints
The Falcons managed to shut down the Saints for most of the game before they gave up a few quick scores, causing them to trail for the first time with a minute to go in the game, before Matt Ryan, Cordarrelle Patterson, Younghoe Koo were able to secure a win, avoiding another late-game collapse.
For the duration of the game, the Saints fans would not stop their “Who Dat” chant, even when they were trailing by a lot.
They especially went crazy when their team scored a touchdown with one minute remaining to go up by one point.
Cordarrelle Patterson shut them up real quick with a huge 62-yard catch down the sideline—reminiscent of the amazing “Minneapolis Miracle” during the playoffs a few years back.
It created a stunned crowd, halting their chants and celebrations.
However, despite being in field goal range, the fans were close to erupting when Mike Davis fumbled the ball, but to the luck of Davis, it was recovered by Atlanta. It was almost a huge break for the Saints, instead, it was a huge break for Mike Davis and his team. It could have been a disaster for Atlanta.
The game ended with Younghoe Koo lining up with three seconds remaining, down by one, and all he had to do was nail the kick. Much like he has done all year, he did just that, sending the crowd packing and Falcons fans chanting “Koo Dat.”
Nothing feels better than beating the Saints, especially in New Orleans.
