A.J. Terrell plays on a Falcons defense that does not give him much help

Everyone knows how bad the Atlanta Falcons defense is, they struggle to stop anyone over the entirety of a game. They might be able to stop a team like the Saints for three quarters, but we all know what happens when the fourth quarter rolls around.

This defense basically consists of Grady Jarrett, Dante Fowler Jr. when healthy, Deion Jones, Foye Oluokun, and A.J. Terrell. No single player outside of those five makes a significant impact, and even a few of those guys are questionable.

If anything is blatantly true about Atlanta’s defense, it is that their pass rush continues to be a huge liability, and what is a defensive backs best friend? A dominant pass rush.

The longer the rush takes to get to the quarterback, the longer guys like Terrell must cover his man. Atlanta might just have the worst group of edge rushers in the entire NFL, meaning A.J. receives as little help as anyone in the NFL.

Despite everything going against him, he continues to flourish.

He is someone that needs to be the priority of the future for the defense, he is already elite and one of the best—at the very least—in the entire league.
