The season for the Atlanta Falcons has been anything but consistent. They opened the season looking like a college team more than an NFL team, followed by a performance against the Buccaneers that was a microcosm of the entire season.

They then went on to beat the Giants, lose to Washington, go on a mini win streak, followed by a dud against Carolina, and now they come off a big win against New Orleans.

We will finally see what type of team the Atlanta Falcons are this week

This is perhaps the biggest test for the Atlanta Falcons this season, they must go to Dallas to take on a team that has been brilliant for much of the season.

Next to the Tampa Bay game, this will undoubtedly be the most difficult game they have played this season—especially for their defense.

Dallas is coming off of a game in which they looked lost against the Broncos, they are going to come out firing on all cylinders to get rid of that bad taste in their mouth, which is certainly not a good thing for Atlanta.

The Falcons defense is where they will win or lose this game, if they can somehow find a way to get a couple critical stops, then perhaps the Falcons could run away with a victory and send the Cowboys on a two-game slide.

That is a big “if” however, this defense was dominant against the Saints for three quarters before they got torched by Trevor Siemien during the last few possessions. That simply will not fly when they take on a much better team on Sunday.

It is a week in which we will find out if there is any hope for the Falcons this year, if they can manage to stay with the Cowboys for four quarters, then we will know that this team is continually improving, but if they cannot, it will only add to the rollercoaster season they have had.
