The Atlanta Falcons are getting ready to take on a New England Patriots team that just blew out the Cleveland Browns. Mac Jones appears to be developing at an impressive rate and the Patriots run game has been consistent no matter who is in the backfield.

To say the Patriots are back would be a disrespect to Tom Brady and how much he brought to what was a hated and beloved franchise.  They were the front running team for the better part of two decades and that appeared to come to an end last season.

Cam Newton struggled after his bout with COVID and the Patriots limped to the finish. This season after a rough start they have gotten hot and appear to be one of the better playoff contenders in a messy AFC race.

The Atlanta Falcons are going to face yet another playoff team, this time can they hang with a team that has given every Falcons fan nightmares?

Atlanta badly needs this game on Thursday to give their fanbase a bit of hope and to help put a bit of salve on the wounds the Patriots have inflicted on Atlanta over the years. This time Atlanta will take on the team with Mac instead of Tom Brady.

Despite their hot streak, this team doesn’t have many stars that should concern Atlanta. What they do have is a cohesive well-coached unit that is going to execute the game plan and rely on Mac not to win the game but not to lose it for the team.

Because of this, I do believe Atlanta can hang around in this game. It also helps that the Patriots are coming off of their best game of the season and the Falcons their worst. In a game that Atlanta needs three players, in particular, to step up.
