The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a 43-3 loss on the road to the Dallas Cowboys. It was the second-fewest scored by Atlanta this season. The Falcons scored six in Week One versus the Eagles.

It was the worst loss of the short Arthur Smith era and destroyed what momentum this team seemed to have. The Falcons had the final wildcard spot in the NFC before the loss and viewed the Cowboys game as a bit of a test.

If it were a test the Falcons didn’t manage to answer one question correctly in the debacle. Luckily Atlanta gets a quick turnaround playing on Thursday night with a chance to erase what happened on Sunday. The defense has a chance to play a quarterback who is coming off of blowing out the Cleveland Browns.

Atlanta has to hope the defense can show a bit of improvement and keep them in this game. Not allowing Mac to drive up and down the field as they did with Dak Prescott.

The 43 points allowed are easily the most points allowed by the Falcons this season. On Thursday, they host the New England Patriots, winners of five of their last six games. The question is what three of the Patriots should head coach Arthur Smith focus on slowing down?
