The Atlanta Falcons are coming off of two of the worst losses in franchise history. A week after the Cowboys dismantled them Atlanta took on the Patriots at home and despite showing some promise defensively were shut out in embarrassing fashion.

Still, there are reasons for encouragement headed into Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Jacksonville has been one of the few teams clearly worse than Atlanta this season struggling with a rookie quarterback and head coach.

Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer have both shown improvement through the season but neither is capable of turning around Jacksonville just yet. There are far too many positional issues on their roster. Jacksonville is facing far more questions than Atlanta and has much further to go it appears in a potential rebuild.

If there was ever a time Atlanta needed to take on a team like Jacksonville it is certainly now after having been badly embarrassed back-to-back weeks.

Even Atlanta’s less than impressive offensive line should be able to give Matt Ryan enough time to put up points against a struggling offense.  One that doesn’t have a lot of big-play ability that has hurt the Atlanta defense this season. Here are three more reasons Falcons fans should be confident this week Atlanta manages to turn it around.
