Atlanta Falcons: 3 most disappointing players of the season so far
Russell Gage has failed to make an impact despite his promotion with the Falcons
Russell Gage was expected to be a big part of the Atlanta Falcons offense, but so far, he has been anything but.
To start off the season he failed to catch a pass in the season opener, then when the team went to Tampa Bay, he had a few catches but was subsequently injured, which would hold him out for multiple weeks.
Going into week seven, when he finally returned from the injury, he had a grand total of five catches for 28 yards, not the stats you want from your second wide receiver going into week seven—even if he only played one and a half games.
To his credit, he had a solid game in Miami with four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown, but he still was vastly underperforming for being a second receiver.
On the year he has 21 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown, despite being the number one wide receiver since Ridley has been out. Not to mention, he only has four games this year where he has gained at least one yard.
Hopefully, Gage will find a way to get open down the stretch, the team needs him in a big way.
