Pulling for the Dallas Cowboys is rarely pleasant, the team often front runs and only to lose to teams with less talent. For the Atlanta Falcons, this is all the more true considering the beatdown Dallas gave Atlanta earlier this season.

Despite this, the Atlanta Falcons and their fans will be pulling for Dallas on Thursday night as Dallas takes on the New Orleans Saints. It doesn’t matter the season or the talent level between the Saints or Falcons it is going to be a close game.

The hate between the Falcons and Saints makes for a great rivalry one that has been great this year for all of the wrong reasons.

The Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints are both teams that need to rebuild fighting for the final wildcard spot in the NFC

Neither of these two teams are contenders when you look at their rosters and playmakers. However, due to a weak NFC Atlanta and New Orleans are both very close to the final wildcard spot and will remain in contention for at least the next two weeks.

For Atlanta, a Saints loss against the Cowboys is absolutely vital. The Falcons are getting ready to face a Tampa Bay team that will almost assuredly beat them and give the Saints a chance to pick up some ground.

The Cowboys need this game after losing to the Raiders in overtime on Thanksgiving. With the Washington Football Team closing in on them in the division Dallas needs a win to keep pace and steady the ship after rocky performances.

Since beating Atlanta Dallas has struggled and appeared to be a different team than the one we are used to watching this season.

As painful as it may be to cheer for Dallas the Atlanta Falcons need the Cowboys to correct their mistakes and allow Atlanta to gain a bit more ground on their hated division rival. A win by the Saints makes a confusing NFC playoff race trend further towards chaos in what has been a year for the underdog.  A trend Atlanta hopes the Cowboys can break tonight against the New Orleans Saints.
