The Atlanta Falcons game against the Detriot Lions has managed to somehow become even less intriguing as it appears Jared Goff will likely miss Sunday’s game. This leaves Goff’s backup Tim Boyle as the presumed starter against the Falcons.

Goff seems unlikely to come off of the COVID list leaving Boyle as the clear starter against the Falcons.  In a game that Atlanta is already favored in this is another factor heavily in Atlanta’s favor.

Tim Boyle has 92-career passing yards and has never tossed a touchdown throwing two interceptions in very limited action. Boyle starting should be enough to hand even the Atlanta Falcons an easy win on Sunday.

Despite all of their advantages, the Atlanta Falcons cannot overlook a scrappy Lions team

Despite likely being without their starting quarterback Atlanta needs to approach this game with a lot of caution. The Detriot Lions are a terrible football team and easily one of the worst two rosters in football.

What separates the Lions from the Texans, Jaguars, or Jets is the effort and coaching that is evident in every game.  This is a Lions team coming off of an upset win over the Arizona Cardinals had previously upset the Minnesota Vikings and tied the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Even with Tim Boyle under center, the Lions are going to give Atlanta everything they can handle. The Falcons should win this football game if they approach this game with the urgency they should have had in their terrible loss against San Francisco.

Matt Ryan losing to Tim Boyle isn’t something that should happen even under a rookie head coach with a rebuilding roster. Boyle is underwhelming at best and hasn’t been an option this season even as Jared Goff has struggled which in itself tells you where Boyle is at this point in his career. Goff as flawed as he is is a much better quarterback who would have a chance to beat Atlanta. Boyle isn’t talented enough to beat a struggling Atlanta Falcons team who can keep their thready playoff hopes alive.
