The NFL’s Pro Bowl is mostly a popularity contest, so many players are snubbed from the roster, including numerous Atlanta Falcons players.

There is a big contrast between who makes the Pro Bowl every year and who should make the Pro Bowl. Certainly, Falcons fans are finding that out the hard way this year, as they have three of the biggest snubs in the entire league.

Pro Football Focus’s Pro Bowl roster features three Atlanta Falcons

Interestingly the two players who made the Pro Bowl for the Falcons are not a part of PFF’s roster—Kyle Pitts and Josh Harris.

George Kittle and Dallas Goedert were the two tight ends who were picked over Kyle Pitts. Certainly, Pro Football Focus has its own way of doing things, and they are more accurate than fan opinions.

Starting with the first player on PFF’s Pro Bowl roster, none other than Cordarrelle Patterson. Patterson is considered to be one of the NFL’s biggest snubs. He is the highest-graded running back in the entire league, so he tops their list. Here is what they say about him:

"One of the biggest breakout players of the 2021 season is none other than Patterson, who is in his ninth season in the NFL. Patterson has always been considered an elite kick returner but has struggled to consistently find a role on the offense. In his first year in Atlanta, Patterson has finally done so, as he has moved to the backfield. Over half of his snaps have come in the backfield this year, and he’s earned an 86.0 PFF grade overall. Patterson’s receiving grade is even better at 91.8."

It is just mind-boggling that Patterson did not make it, he gets a fair amount of media attention, so that should have been enough to secure him a spot.

Next up is a player along the Falcons offensive line, and that is Chris Lindstrom if you could not guess.

Lindstrom is an underrated player in the league, he certainly deserved a spot in the Pro Bowl as he was PFF’s fourth-highest-rated guard. He has been the one constant along the offensive line this season.

Last, but not least, is none other than A.J. Terrell, who is PFF’s highest-graded cornerback. Along with Patterson, he has been talked about a lot as one of the biggest snubs, there is no denying it.

Terrell is on a pace that few corners in the history of the NFL have been on. He is the best lockdown corner in the NFL right now. Hopefully, he will be able to make it as an alternate sometime down the road.

Here is what they had to say about Terrell:

"Terrell is in the conversation for most improved player in the NFL this season. The 2020 first-round pick has improved his PFF coverage grade over 33 points year-over-year from 57.0 (71st) in 2020 to 90.2 (first) in 2021. The most yards Terrell has allowed in a single game this season is 32. He’s allowed the fewest yards per coverage snap in the NFL this season (0.33) while ranking third in forced incompletion rate (21.1%)."

It is just a crime that A.J. Terrell is not a Pro Bowler, he has been one of the best players in the NFL this year. Nonetheless, he has a bright future and is another player the Falcons can build around.
