Atlanta Falcons three biggest dead cap hits in 2022

2. Atlanta will have to find a better depth option at running back after parting ways with Qadree Ollison who is only owed $77,891- in 2022
Cutting Ollison was the right move for an Atlanta Falcons team that is better off handing the ball to Cordarrelle Patterson and Mike Davis. Davis is the only impact running back under contract in 2022 and will likely be back with the team thanks to a late surge.
Ollison has 120-career rushing yards in his three-year career with the Atlanta Falcons and averaged 3.9-yards-per-carry this season. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Atlanta bring back Ollison to the practice squad next season and give him limited chances.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Atlanta utilize a draft pick to bring in a running back and attempt to address their depth issues at the position. However, Atlanta’s primary focus will be on bringing back Cordarrelle Patterson at the position.
Patterson has been the Atlanta Falcons offense this season and will be their focus early on in the off-season. If Atlanta manages to retain Patterson their backfield will be in a good position and need nothing more than a depth piece or two to allow Patterson and Davis to rest.
