Atlanta Falcons. Jordan Davis. 13. player. 44. . Defensive tackle

Moving down left the Atlanta Falcons with a tough choice, they could address their run defense with Jordan Davis or opt to draft another Alabama receiver in Jameson Williams.  For this simulation, we opted to go with Davis whose skill seems guaranteed to translate to the next level. Williams is very talented but there are plenty of options in free agency at the receiver position.

Atlanta will be unable to find a player of Jordan’s skill level at his position in free agency. Jordan Davis comes in and fixes a lot of Atlanta’s defensive problems on day one. Paired with Grady Jarrett Atlanta can bring in almost any competent veteran edge rushers and they will find success.

Opposing offensive lines are going to have a potential disaster on their hands any time Davis and Jarret are lined up together.  Their size and abilities to push the pocket combined should help with Atlanta’s issues getting pressure and help to stop the run.

As nice as it would have been to have picked a receiver in this spot Atlanta’s biggest problem is fixing their defense. If they can address their issues defensively Matt Ryan can make a combination of Gage, Pitts, and veteran additions productive enough for the Falcons offense to take a step forward.

Jordan Davis would have been a reach at ten but trading down and getting future draft capital while taking the exact position they needed is a win.
