Jordan Battle . 45. player. 44. . Safety . Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons pick another Jordan in round two and continue to focus on rebuilding their defense.  With only SEC players on the table, it was an easy decision to pick Jordan Battle in this slot. The safety is an Alabama product who is going to translate well to the next level.

Battle fits perfectly in Atlanta as well and would give A.J. Terrell help in the secondary. Even if the Falcons opted to add two veteran pass rushers and only used their first two picks on Battle and Davis respectively their defense would take a huge step forward.

Jordan Battle is 6’1 with great speed who can cover up a lot of mistakes. Battle is great in coverage and like most Alabama secondary prospects isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and make a tough tackle.

When you watch Battle play for the Tide two things really jump out. The first is elite footwork that has him seemingly always in the right spot and the ability to turn on surprising speed to close the gap if he needs to cover a mistake.

The second thing that jumps out about Battle is his aforementioned tackling. He has no problem stepping up into the box and helping stop the run a trait Atlanta could use considering some of the undersized safeties they have utilized in recent seasons.

Battle is a perfect fit in Atlanta and would help as the Falcons continue to implement a new scheme and attempt to build a capable defense.
