Atlanta Falcons trade down in full 7 round all SEC mock draft
By Nick Halden
Does anyone think Jalen Mayfield is a capable starter or ever will be as a guard? If anyone answers this question positively there is a good chance they are either a Saints fan or haven’t watched the Falcons this season. The biggest issue for the Atlanta offensive line has been the middle completely implodes on what seems to be every snap.
While there are questions at center and the tackle position if you’re the Falcons you have to start somewhere. Ingram falls perfectly to Atlanta in this simulation and looks to be a much better player than Mayfield.
While it is hard to guess exactly how players will develop Ingram seems to be a relatively safe bet. He isn’t going to step in and be a star but he will slow the pass rush and give Matt Ryan a fighting chance.
Jalen Mayfield is a player I look for the Falcons to move off of this off-season. Drafting LSU product Ed Ingram is the perfect step to replace a player who shouldn’t be back next season. Atlanta could have used this position to attempt to address receiver as well but after Jameson, there are few options that seem to fit Atlanta. Ingram is a boring pick that improves Atlanta’s future and gives their offensive line a much-needed guard.
