Will the Atlanta Falcons finally beat Tom Brady in 2022?
By Nick Halden
The only hope the Atlanta Falcons have of changing their fortunes against Tom Brady next season is finding a pass rush. If you don’t have a pass rush capable of making Brady move his feet you have no chance of beating the quarterback who won’t stop haunting Atlanta.
It wasn’t enough that Brady beat the Falcons in the Super Bowl the way he did two years later he joined Atlanta’s division. Two seasons in and Brady has remained unbeaten against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons.
For that to change in 2022 the recipe for Atlanta is very simple, you must have a consistent offense and make Tom Brady move his feet.
The Atlanta Falcons must study how the New Orleans Saints beat Brady and attempt to copy their rival’s homework this off-season
Without a good offense, the New Orleans Saints were able to frustrate Brady for the fourth time in five chances over the last two years. The Saints are the only team in recent memory that has been able to consistently slow down and frustrate Brady.
Unfortunately for Atlanta how the Saints slow Brady is by using the exact personnel that Atlanta lacks. Unless Atlanta manages to find at least two solid pass rushers in the off-season they will have no chance of beating Brady next season.
Atlanta’s best hope may be that Brady’s age finally catches him which seems annoyingly unlikely or Brady pulls a surprise retirement. Otherwise, it is hard to see one off-season of moves allowing Atlanta to catch Brady’s roster that has been filled with veterans and talent to perfectly fit his skillset.
As frustrating as it may be it appears the division will be Tom Brady’s for yet another season in 2022. Atlanta is at least another year away from having a chance to build a roster to finally take down the nightmare that has been Tom Brady.
