The Atlanta Falcons off-season is hardly underway with the Super Bowl yet to be played and already their 2022 is off to a great start. The New Orleans Saints lost their head coach Sean Payton to retirement and are yet to find an answer at quarterback or who their head coach of the future will be.

A team that has won against Atlanta in their recent history is suddenly looking at a possible rebuild.

Carolina meanwhile has doubled down on head coach Matt Rhule for an unknown reason and currently has Sam Darnold as their 2022 starter. As long as Darnold is the starting quarterback the Panthers are going to be the team in the bottom of the NFC South

This leaves the Tampa Bay Bucs who are rumored to be without a quarterback as well leaving the Atlanta Falcons with a huge advantage in Matt Ryan

Brady has not officially retired considering the team nor has Brady as of yet acknowledged his status for next season. However, all signs seem to be pointing to the veteran retiring leaving Matt Ryan as the best quarterback in the NFC South.

While a lot can change between now and September there is a scenario that leaves Ryan and the Falcons with a huge advantage. Facing Kyle Trask, Sam Darnold, and Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill a combined six times.

Six games against inferior quarterbacks in a division that is sure to be one of the worst in football. Add in the fact that the Falcons will have time to improve in the trenches and it isn’t out of the realm of possibility Atlanta becomes NFC South contenders in  2022.

The NFC South as currently constructed could take only eight or nine wins to secure. A sad fact that should give the Atlanta Falcons and their fans a bit of hope heading into the 2022 season.
