3. Michael Gallup is an underrated playmaker that would fit well in Atlanta

Lost among the Dallas Cowboys weapons is the Cowboy’s third receiver, Michael Gallup. Gallup is clearly the third option at his position in Dallas but still has found ways to make huge plays in his tenure.

It always seemed to be Gallup making that one play when Dak and the offense needed it most. This is the type of player that Matt Ryan so badly needs in the Atlanta offense. Alongside Kyle Pitts Gallup would bring some much-needed size and the ability to catch the deep ball.

If Gallup were signed and Calvin Ridley returns to Atlanta you suddenly have one of the better-receiving groups in the league. Signing a veteran and drafting a depth receiver would fully rebuild the receiver room and give Atlanta the piece the offense is missing.

Gallup’s 2021 season was cut short due to an injury one that likely will hurt his value in free agency. The one issue here is the fact that the Cowboys know how valuable Gallup is and will likely contend with any offer Atlanta sends his way.

Michael Gallup is far from the best receiver in this year’s free-agent class. What he is, however, is an underrated piece that would fit perfectly alongside Kyle Pitts and Matt Ryan.
