Calvin Ridley’s future with the Atlanta Falcons seems to be up in the air after Ridley missed much of the 2021 season. Internet speculation has Ridley demanding his way out of Atlanta and the Falcons moving on from their best receiver.

In truth, whether there is anything legitimate to these rumors is unknown. We haven’t heard anything aside from speculation and until the team or Ridley speaks out it is hard to determine what the truth is or what Ridley’s future might be.

Calvin Ridley may very well be on the trade market or he could have no intention of leaving the Atlanta Falcons. There is also the possibility that Ridley needs to step away from football altogether for his well-being.

Even if Calvin Ridley asked for a trade the Atlanta Falcons should stick with the receiver and attempt to bring him back

Entertaining the possibility that Ridley does ask the Falcons for a trade there are obvious reasons that Atlanta shouldn’t acquiesce.

If Calvin Ridley plays for any team next season it needs to be with the Atlanta Falcons. Ridley’s positive impact on the team has been evident before last season and he is currently the only rostered receiver capable of playing a role.

Trading Ridley shouldn’t be an option for an Atlanta Falcons team that is sitting in a suddenly wide-open NFC South. Ridley’s future may not be as in question as you think when you consider the situation the team is in.
