Matt Ryan is now the league’s most accomplished quarterback

With the retirements of Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan could now be considered the NFL’s most accomplished quarterback, and we all should be happy he is with the Atlanta Falcons.

There is obviously a lot more that goes into being a quarterback, but Ryan has shown he has the capabilities to take a team to the top—unfortunately, the rest of the team failed him.

Who were the only two active players who had more career passing yards than the Falcons current quarterback? Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, coincidentally two players who have retired recently.

Now when you take a look at the record books for most passing yards among active players, you will see Matt Ryan sitting alone.

This is an important stat for a quarterback, it shows how well they are able to get their team down the field, something that Matt Ryan has consistently done for a long time as the Falcons quarterback. He may not have had his best year this season, but he could have a big bounce-back season provided that the offense can get back on track as a whole.

There are only seven players who have more passing yards in their career than Matt Ryan, and realistically Ryan could jump ahead of three of them next season—Dan Marino, Phillip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger.

That is a pretty wild stat for a quarterback who is consistently pushed under the rug by the media.

The one big thing that everyone points to with Matt is that he has no Super Bowl rings, but neither does Dan Marino, Marino is widely regarded as one of the best to ever throw a football, yet Ryan will likely pass Marino in the record books next season.

This all goes to show that the Falcons still have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, despite what many people think.
