5. Devonta Freeman could find a shot at redemption in Atlanta

Devonta Freeman appeared to be at the end of his career when he left the Atlanta Falcons. He had lost his burst and couldn’t stay healthy. After multiple stops, Freeman finally found a role with the Baltimore Ravens and played at a level Falcons fans haven’t seen in years.

Freeman caught the ball out of the backfield and helped the Baltimore rushing attack that badly needed a reliable back. Bringing Freeman back to Atlanta would be a fun move only if Atlanta moves on from Mike Davis and signs another starter.

Cutting Mike Davis and bringing back Cordarrelle Patterson should be the first moves Atlanta makes this off-season at the position. Bringing Freeman in will be inexpensive and allow Atlanta to still add to the position in the draft if they find the right answer at the position.

Devonta Freeman’s time in Atlanta came to an unfortunate end bringing him back in a reserve role would be an interesting story. One that would give Ryan a familiar target and offer the Falcons a change of pace back. Could Freeman really be any worse than Mike Davis? It is hard to see Freeman as anything other than what he would be, an upgrade.
