The NFC South appears to be wide open and a great draft from the Falcons would give them a chance to become surprise contenders this season.
The division is that wide open with the New Orleans Saints without a quarterback or Sean Payton and in a world of cap trouble. The Tampa Bay Bucs won’t have Tom Brady at the helm and could lose a number of impact-free agents. They will still have a lot of talent but can they find a quarterback to take advantage of it?
Carolina is in complete disarray and similar to New Orleans they are without a proven coach or a quarterback. As currently constructed the Panthers are the obvious basement team in a bad division and would have to have a miracle off-season to change that fact.

Finding a way to win this draft is a must for an Atlanta team that has limited cap space. Finding impact players in free agency alone isn’t an option.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at who the Atlanta Falcons decided to take in round one of what will be a surprising and exciting draft class.
