#74 QB Carson Strong, Nevada

I was highly convinced that a QB would be slatted to the second round for the Atlanta Falcons but other needs mixed with the talent available pushed that affirmation back a bit. Landing Carson Strong in the third round would be a great value selection and would hopefully set up the future under center as Matt Ryan nears retirement. Strong has limited mobility but possesses in my eyes the best arm in the class from a strength standpoint.

There is also the fact that he will need time to develop and is one of the least polished quarterbacks in the draft. Still, he is a great pick for an Atlanta Falcons team that is used to watching a pocket passer. Strong is able to run any offense Matt Ryan can if his skill set translates to the next level. He is the same type of passer with a much stronger arm, with Strong running the Atlanta offense they would have deeper throws at their disposal. Drafting Carson Strong and allowing him to sit behind Ryan for a season or two is a great scenario for a team that needs to start looking at life after Matt Ryan.
