Atlanta Falcons: Three potential tight ends to replace Hayden Hurst
O.J. Howard
The Falcons could potentially find a diamond in the rough if they decide to sign O.J. Howard.
Howard is a very talented player, but he has been overshadowed by a deep Buccaneers tight end room over the past couple of seasons. He has had to compete with Cameron Brate and Rob Gronkowski, certainly not the most favorable position to be in.
Howard is a former 19th overall pick by the Buccaneers in the 2017 draft, so you know he is super talented but just has not had a great opportunity when you consider who has been around him.
He started his career off with three straight 400+ yard seasons, but in his last two seasons, he has not been able to break 200 receiving yards. This might be good news for Atlanta, as that certainly has driven his price down.
Spotrac has his projected annual average at just $2.2 million. Even that seems a little low considering the pedigree he had coming out of Alabama. If the Falcons could get him on a contract that averages just $2 million a year, that would be an absolute steal.
O.J. Howard could be the Falcons Cordarrelle Patterson of this upcoming free agency.
