As always, prior to free agency starting there are talks about certain players possibly being on the trade block, and one of those players should pique the interest of the Atlanta Falcons.

He is a former 1,000-yard rusher for the New York Giants but has dealt with injuries for two straight years, and pairing that with the fact that he is going into a contract year, the Giants seem to be willing to move on from him.

The Atlanta Falcons have a need at running back, Saquon is a perfect fit

The Falcons are reportedly wanting to bring back another star running back, Cordarrelle Patterson. In the event that a deal does not get done with Patterson, the Falcons would be in dire need of a running back, therefore, Saquon Barkley would be a perfect addition.

However, even if a deal does get done with Cordarrelle Patterson, that should not stop Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith from wanting Saquon Barkley.

Think about what the Falcons were able to do in 2016 with two star running backs—Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.

Also, think about what Arthur Smith had in Tennessee with Derrick Henry. Saquon could have that type of impact on the Falcons.

Saquon is a former second-overall pick of the New York Giants, and while they seem to be regretting that selection, he has still been pretty productive when he is healthy.

His best season came during his rookie year when he rushed for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns, followed by a sophomore year with 1,003 yards and 6 touchdowns. For the next two years, he struggled with injuries, bringing us to the current day.

Barkley can recapture his magic and talent, he just needs to stay healthy.

Right now his value is at an all-time low, it is time to pounce on an opportunity to get a star at the running back position.
