The Falcons may end up losing their top receiver in 2021

The Atlanta Falcons are not in the best position at the wide receiver position. They had to rely on Russell Gage to be their top receiver for much of last season, it was not ideal for a player who should be a compliment in an offense.

Who knows if the team is looking to resign him or not, while he was not in the right situation, he was very up and down throughout the season.

And with no one knowing if Calvin Ridley will be back, it only adds to the question marks around the position.

Ignoring Ridley, the Falcons only have two wide receivers under contract for next season—Frank Darby and Austin Trammell. That is a huge problem.

The team will no doubt add numerous players to the position, whether through the draft or in free agency. They just need to add talent to the wide receiver room that is looking like a desert.

So, let’s say the Falcons elect to let Russell Gage go somewhere else, they would then be in the market for a complimentary wide receiver. Who could the Falcons look to sign to fill that hole?
