The 2022 NFL off-season is about to kick into full gear for our Atlanta Falcons as free agency is days away while the combine has wrapped up and the countdown to the draft is on. Wide receiver was already a big position of need for the Falcons but that need took on more priority following the news that Calvin Ridley would be suspended for the entire season for betting on NFL games last fall.

Ridley was already a big name on the trade block but now he’s gone for good in 2022  and no compensation will be given following this new revelation. Frank Darby, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Christian Blake are the only receivers Atlanta has on their roster with any notable NFL experience. None of these three are capable of starting or making a large impact pointing to Atlanta’s need to make multiple additions at the position.

With the loss of Calvin Ridley, the Atlanta Falcons must address the receiver position early this off-season finding a number one receiver and a supporting cast

While the 8th overall pick should be dedicated to addressing the defensive side of the ball but the second round gives them a prime opportunity to upgrade at a variety of positions, pass catcher included. Here are some of the best options over the next two months to set the Falcons up for a better short and long-term future at receiver.
