Whether or not Watson is going to face suspension from the league or any type of punishment isn’t yet known for sure. What is known is the number of accusations and the off-the-field concerns should be a huge factor for any team that thinks about chasing Deshaun Watson. You will be paying picks and possibly players for a quarterback who may not even be allowed on the field for a time. We don’t know what Watson’s future in the league looks like or what turns his legal situation could take in the future.
Any team that goes after Watson is acquiring a player who is facing a lot off the field questions and scrutiny. Teams and owners have often ignored the off-the-field concerns if the player is a star who can help win and while Watson certainly fits that description trading for Watson is the wrong move for Atlanta.
