5. Ryan Fitzpatrick

It feels as if Fitz has been a bridge starter for nearly every team around the league so why not Atlanta?  Ryan was injured in his first game last season with Washington and never was able to come back and start due to injury and the quarterback situation.

Falcon’s fans will remember Ryan’s time with Tampa Bay and the back-and-forth starts that were given to Fitz and Jameis Winston. Fitzpatrick followed this up by putting themselves in the exact same situation going to Miami and competing with Tua for a starting role.  Fitzpatrick always seems to be failing to live up to expectations or coming in for an injured starter and putting together a surprise run.

Fitz is the ultimate veteran bridge starter if Atlanta trades Ryan and isn’t sold on any of their options in the current draft Fitzpatrick is a consideration. The veteran much like Dalton is still on the market waiting for the right situation with a team that could give him a chance to start. Atlanta could opt to bring him in as well as draft a quarterback and provide a depth option if the rookie isn’t ready to start. Regardless of who they may choose the Falcon’s off-season continues to take unfortunate and interesting turns.
