2. Baker doesn’t deserve to be sent into the dysfunction that is the Falcons right now

Baker Mayfield when healthy and supported is good enough to get his team to the playoffs. Beyond that what do we know for sure about Mayfield? In truth very little, how much blame do the Browns deserve for his struggles considering their track record at the position?

To really know what Baker Mayfield is capable of being the quarterback needs to land in a location that gives him a chance to win now. Coming off of a season-ending injury and terrible season going to Atlanta would have a chance to end his career as a starter. Behind a terrible offensive line and with few weapons what could Baker be expected to do with this mess?

Atlanta isn’t the right landing spot for Baker a player who needs a fresh start in a functional environment. Bringing in a rookie to compete with Mariota one who little is expected from is the better move for Atlanta.

Going from the Browns to the Falcons is a cruel twist that Baker doesn’t deserve. The league and the Falcons would be far better served to see Baker go elsewhere and prove whether or not he is capable of being a franchise quarterback.
