The Atlanta Falcons have a suffering roster as it stands right now. They are led by the former second-overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, his name being Marcus Mariota.

Mariota has struggled to be consistent during his career which led to him being the backup in Las Vegas for a couple of seasons. Who knows, maybe those two years of sitting on the bench did wonders for him and he can develop into a franchise quarterback, but the Falcons do not have the players to help him out right now.

The Falcons need to make a move at wide receiver soon

Olamide Zaccheaus, Frank Darby, Christian Blake, Austin Trammell, and Chad Hansen are the wide receivers for the Falcons that are currently eligible to play for the 2022 NFL season. No one can blame you if you do not know half of those guys, it is simply a terrible position group for the Falcons.

This is why they need to make a move as soon as possible. Anything will help at this point, as Zaccheaus and Darby should not be your two starting receivers.

It does not matter if they elect to sign a talented receiver like Julio Jones or Odell Beckham, or if they elect to sign a more feasible option in someone like Will Fuller or T.Y. Hilton.

Yes, most of those players are injury prone, but again, anything will help at this point. They need to set Marcus Mariota up to have as much success as possible.

Tight end, Kyle Pitts, simply cannot do it all alone, think about when Julio Jones had his best year, he benefitted from having Mohammed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel. Atlanta needs to give Mariota and Pitts that kind of help. Even bringing back Sanu would be extremely helpful.

It is easy to see why the Falcons need wide receiver help, after losing Russell Gage to the Buccaneers and Calvin Ridley to suspension, the room is simply a desert. Time to make a signing at the position.
