3. DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf is fun to watch no matter what team you happen to be pulling for. Watching him run through would-be tacklers or simply outrunning the field speaks to the freak athlete DK is. There isn’t a receiver quite like him in this league and if Seattle decides to deal him teams will line up. In an increasingly expensive receiver market and one year away from being a free agent, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the Seahawks attempt to cash in.

For Atlanta to consider paying the price it would take to bring DK to Atlanta the reasoning is simple. A DK trade can only happen if a contract is in place to keep Metcalf in Atlanta long-term and make him a part of the future rebuild.

While this move is the most exciting of the three it makes the least amount of sense for a team a year away from escaping a terrible cap situation. Atlanta will have money to spend next off-season and assumably a great draft pick. Spending those assets before you have struggled through a rebuild would be a risky choice. But there is also no denying there aren’t any other players like DK in this league and if he hits the trade market the Falcons at least have to consider making a move for the star.
