Mykal Walker

The Falcons’ linebacking corp went from one of the best in the NFL to one of the worst in just a year.

Much of the reason for that was due to the poor play of Deion Jones in the first year of Dean Pees as the defensive coordinator. Hopefully, he can get back to being the player that he was in 2016 and 2017.

With the loss of Foyesade Oluokun to the Jaguars, Mykal Walker will be looked at as the running mate with Deion Jones. Walker has the talent to elevate the position compared to what it was in 2021.

The Falcons will need Walker to become more consistent when on the field, as he would be decent one game and a liability during the next game. If he can get the consistency that is needed, Walker has the potential to be special.

During his rookie season, Pro Football Focus gave him a 90.7 coverage grade on limited snaps.

That shows just how athletic is as it is not easy to be an NFL linebacker as they are tasked with covering some of the best athletes in the world.

So, watch out for Mykal Walker to be the next star at the linebacker position for the Falcons.
