The Atlanta Falcons will have no shortage of choices in the upcoming NFL draft, considering they need help at virtually every position on both sides of the ball. Tight-end is the only position it would be surprising to see Atlanta draft considering Kyle Pitts was last year’s top selection. Outside of that is there any position Atlanta shouldn’t be considering?

So far Atlanta has been relatively quiet in free agency making headlines only for the trade rumors surrounding Deshaun Watson and the subsequent trade of Matt Ryan. Casey Hayward and Marcus Mariota have been the only noteworthy signings for a team that looks to be a contender for next year’s first overall selection.

Before diving into the Falcons’ selections first let’s look at the only Atlanta trade in the draft. The Raiders offer Atlanta the chance to move up more than forty slots to move up four slots in an earlier round. If Atlanta gets the chance at a move like this they won’t hesitate. This year’s draft class is far too interesting to simply view as a three-four round draft. For Atlanta’s rebuild to take a step forward they will need to hit on at least one or two of their late-round selections. This move helps give them a better chance at that opportunity.

Outside of this move Atlanta sticks with their current draft picks and takes a huge gamble with their first pick in the draft.
