3. Carson Strong

Carson Strong has arguably the most arm talent at his position in this draft class despite his limited experience. Strong, however, isn’t a mobile player and much of his game still needs to be developed and grown to succeed at the next level. Strong would not be an immediate fix for Atlanta and would be a risky draft pick for a team already making questionable decisions at the position.

If Atlanta drafts a quarterback this off-season there is likely going to be a lot of pressure on the rookie to start when Marcus Mariota struggles. Mariota is being handed a mess of a roster and asked to stabilize a team that is rebuilding. Any rookie that Atlanta drafts will likely be under pressure to start at some point during the 2022 season.

Strong is unlikely to be ready and even less likely to be the answer for Atlanta. Strong needs at least one season behind an experienced veteran in a stable offense. Atlanta is not the right fit despite Carson’s immense talent. Malik Willis in the first round or Sam Howell in the second round are the only obvious fits at the position for Atlanta.
