5 Atlanta Falcons who could be traded during the season
By Nick Halden
1. Mike Davis
For Atlanta to have any shot of trading Davis the running back is going to have to rebuild value during the first half of the season. The fact he is still on the roster and not a cap casualty is a bit surprising, especially considering Atlanta has already brought back Cordarrelle Patterson. Bringing back Mike Davis should only be an option if the team is looking to build his trade value and move him before the deadline. What other reason is there to bring back a player who didn’t live up to expectations?
Davis struggled last season after a great 2020-season with the Carolina Panthers. Davis at his best won’t garner much of a return but a team looking for extra punch in the backfield might be willing to spend a late-round pick on Davis if the running back is able to bounce back. Part of the issue last season was the fact the offensive line couldn’t get any push up front. Davis is strictly between the tackles running back not a player looking to break a run outside. At his best, he is a bruiser that runs in between tackles and is a short-yardage weapon. If Atlanta opts to head into the 2022 season with Davis on the roster the team should be looking to move him for any reasonable offer.
