Where do the Atlanta Falcons rank in the NFC South?
By Nick Halden
1. Tampa Bay
Despite Tom Brady’s odd retirement and return, there isn’t any reason to put any team above Tampa right now. With a nice mix of veteran and young talent, the Bucs will be contenders yet again as long as Brady doesn’t finally find the infamous cliff. An unlikely scenario for a player that lives just to frustrate the rest of the league. Atlanta is yet to beat Tom Brady and let’s be honest that trend is likely to continue this season.
Former Atlanta Falcons receiver Russell Gage is an underrated addition and will give the offense the boost it needed after Antonio Brown’s meltdown. There are still concerns in the Tampa secondary but not enough to make an argument that any team can challenge them within the division. The offensive line is solid and they have a great receiver group and a solid running attack. Unless Brady is injured or a NFC South team makes a surprise blockbuster move the division is Tampa’s for at least one more season.
Tom Brady doesn’t care about winning the division, however, but adding another ring. Arguably the path has never been easier in a weak division and in a conference with few teams in his way.
