It is an easy argument to make that this upcoming Atlanta Falcons draft class is the most important in well over a decade. The Atlanta front office is heading into its second year and its first in full rebuild mode. This is a draft that will tell us a lot about how well this front office scouts and indicate how much trust the ownership and fans should have in the current leadership.

A bumpy off-season has left fans with a myriad of reasons to be concerned about whether or not this front office has the team headed in the right direction. The decisions at the quarterback position have been especially concerning.

The draft class is a chance to wipe away the mistakes they have made thus far and take a huge step forward in the rebuild.  If Atlanta doesn’t find success with this draft class there is reason to wonder if the front office and coaching staff is still employed in Atlanta next season.

Rebuilds in this league are increasing in speed and aggressiveness seemingly every year. If Atlanta cannot show any progress in two seasons it would be surprising not to see the owner decide to change leadership. With these stakes in mind, here are three mistakes the front office cannot afford to make on draft day.
