3 Players the Atlanta Falcons won’t regret signing

2. Casey Hayward can help push the Atlanta defense in the right direction
A.J. Terrell was arguably the best corner in the league last season shutting down anyone who dared line up in front of him. His season was undercovered, however, due to just how terribly the rest of the defense played.
Atlanta made a move to attempt to address this issue by bringing in veteran corner Casey Hayward. Hayward is the best corner that Terrell will have played with and give the young corner a veteran to lean on. A player who can truly help him both on and off the field. Hayward’s deal is easy to get out of if he underperforms or gives Atlanta another veteran to build around in 2023 if he has a good season.
If Atlanta can add a safety and a capable pass rusher in the draft the Falcons’ defense will have a chance to show growth they haven’t since their 2016 run to the Super Bowl. Bringing back Isaiah Oliver was an underrated signing as well considering the growth he showed before his injury. Oliver played as the slot corner and excelled in that role, paired with Terrell and Hayward the Atlanta secondary has a great chance of taking a huge step forward.
