3. Signing Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota is the perfect bridge quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. A mobile quarterback who will entertain and give the Falcons some great moments while not winning a lot. This may sound like a contradiction and in some ways it is but it is the reality of where this franchise is. Mariota is a fun bridge quarterback who is going to have some great moments but isn’t capable of winning a lot of games.

Mariota will give Atlanta a great draft pick without giving the Falcons the ugly season another veteran bridge option could.  There is also the familiarity with Arthur Smith that will give the Atlanta Falcons offense an advantage. Mariota and Smith have worked together before and can tailor the offense to what Mariota does best. Marcus can make plays with his feet and does a great job at getting out of the pocket and finding the open receiver. A skill set he will have to utilize consistently if the Falcons fail to improve the offensive line.

Mariota is a great bridge quarterback that will make Atlanta watchable without leaving any questions that Atlanta still needs a long-term answer at the position.
