3 Teams clearly in a worse position than the Atlanta Falcons
By Nick Halden
1. The New York Giants
It is easy to see that the New York Giants have been poorly run over the majority of the last decade. They botched Eli Manning’s retirement made poor decisions at the quarterback position and mismanaged coaching hires. Despite having massive cap space as well in 2023 the Giants are in a worse position based simply on the lack of building blocks on their roster. Who on their roster is there to build around?
Daniel Jones isn’t a franchise quarterback despite New York’s blind faith in a quarterback whose one consistency is making a key mistake. The Giants lack a clear direction not committing to a rebuild and finding their quarterback of the future and lack the cap space to make the moves to compete within their division.
The team is lost and has been since beating Tom Brady’s Patriots in the 2011 Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was followed by one wildcard appearance and a decade of ineptitude. What is going to change in New York over the next year? Best case scenario the Giants commit to finding an answer at the quarterback position at the end of the year and move on from Daniel Jones. A decision that they should have made two years ago.
