2. Akiem Hicks

If the Atlanta Falcons are unable to draft Jordan Davis or another high-impact defensive tackle Akiem Hicks could find a new home in Atlanta. Hicks when he can stay healthy impacts the pocket at a high level demanding attention and giving edge rushers an advantage. Hicks would help Atlanta’s defense solve their issues stopping the run while giving Grady Jarrett a lot of help wreaking havoc on the inside.

Of all the potential fits Hicks certainly makes the most sense for a defense looking to take a step forward. While the offense is being rebuilt almost entirely Atlanta’s moves this off-season point to the fact they want the defense to improve and take a step in the right direction.  Hicks would be an impact addition that would help fix Atlanta’s issues stopping the run and lack of pass rush.

Hicks has 40.5-career sacks and 73-career tackles for a loss pointing to the impact he has had throughout his career. The numbers fail to tell the full story of his impact both as a defensive leader.

Atlanta fans will remember Hicks from his time with the Saints. Hicks spent time with the Patriots before finding the most success of his career with the Chicago Bears one of Pace’s best additions and a great reunion for Atlanta.
