The Atlanta Falcons have watched multiple impact players leave this off-season whether through free agency, trades, or cuts. The 2022 Atlanta Falcons are going to look much different than the rosters Atlanta has put together over the last half-decade.

With five draft picks in the first three rounds and a myriad of minor free agent signings the Atlanta roster will face roster turnover the team hasn’t dealt with in recent memory. Jake Matthews is the only clear building block from the last front office that will certainly keep his starting job.

Matthews was given an extension that keeps him in Atlanta through the rebuild. Grady Jarrett and Deion Jones are both still a part of the roster as well but either could be traded before the season begins.

Jones has regressed over the last two years and left the team plenty of reason to think it is time to move on. Jarret on the other hand is still a disruptive player that the Falcons would love to keep in Atlanta if the team can come up with an extension that fits both sides.

If they can’t reach an agreement it seems likely Jarrett will be traded to a contending team. Regardless of whether they can retain Jarrett, Atlanta is in for a rough season one that will leave the team missing three players in particular.
