5. Habakkuk Baldonado, DE | Pittsburgh

Speaking of unknown names this one is probably the least notable of the bunch but one that will earn plenty of respect over the next 11 months. Baldonado put up 12.0 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks for the eventual ACC champions as a part of a versatile front seven that had a number of contributors step up.

Baldonado isn’t the quickest and doesn’t possess the best natural bend but he is relentless off the edge with his upper body strength and violent hands. Those same attributes are evident when penetrating the interior as the Panther is a high-effort player that chases from behind and hits with pop. He could easily work his way inside the top ten with a great season for the Panthers.

6. Brandon Joseph, DB | Notre Dame

The Atlanta Falcons Safety group desperately needed some attention this off-season and it, unfortunately, didn’t get any outside of UDFA Brad Hawkins. The Falcons passed on Kyle Hamilton in April but would they do so if his replacement were to work his way into consideration of being the top Safety on the board? Likely not.

Joseph transfers over from Northwestern after being an All-American in 2020 following a 52-tackle, 6 Interception debut season for the Wildcats. Joseph continued to showcase his ball skills this past season making 7 recorded plays on the ball while he also displayed how diverse his game is. Joseph was great in the back end from a coverage standpoint and also made his presence felt in the box. Joseph isn’t exactly a downhill thumper like Jalen Catalon from Arkansas but his coverage abilities check the boxes.
