KhaDarel Hodge – WR

When the Falcons signed KhaDarel Hodge, no one saw him as more than a depth piece for the opening day roster, but now he has a steep climb to even make the roster.

The Falcons obviously used their top selection on a big receiver out of USC named Drake London. He will be expected to be atop the depth chart when the season kicks off against the Saints, after all, you do not draft a receiver in the top ten to be a backup option.

Prior to the draft, the team signed speedy receiver, Damiere Byrd, and a huge receiver in Auden Tate. Throw in Olamide Zaccheaus and last year’s draft selection, Frank Darby, and you already have a relatively crowded receiver room, even if they are inexperienced.

Then Terry Fontenot recently pulled off an excellent trade by getting Bryan Edwards from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Those are your probable six receivers to start the season, leaving KhaDarel Hodge behind. Not to mention, Olamide Zaccheaus and Damiere Byrd already filled the role that Hodge would fill.

Throw in the fact that KhaDarel is 27 years old and has never totaled more than 180 yards in a season, and he is a clear candidate to be left off the opening day roster.
