2. Week Eight the Carolina Panthers head to Atlanta

The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons have a lot of similarities as two teams with great pieces to build around and huge quarterback questions. If the season started today it appears Sam Darnold would be the Carolina Panthers’ starting quarterback. That fact alone is more than enough to convince us that Atlanta will win at least one of their matchup.

While Tom Brady’s Bucs and the hated Saints will likely sweep the Falcons this season Atlanta will have a shot to beat the Panthers. Carolina lacks a quarterback or a clear offensive identity. There is also the huge question mark as to whether or not Christian McCaffrey can stay healthy?

At home, Atlanta should be the favorite for the second time this season and win a game at home against Carolina. The one caveat to this prediction is whether Carolina decides to add a quarterback. Even a marginal improvement would be enough to push Carolina past Atlanta as the favorite. Cam Newton and Baker Mayfield are the obvious options for a team that looks to be a quarterback away from being a competitive team.

If, however, Carolina sticks with Sam Darnold as their starter Atlanta will win at least one of their divisional matchups against a team that appears to be heading in the wrong direction.
