Before looking back at the Atlanta Falcons’ all-time leading receivers there are several surprising contributors inside the top-thirty leading receivers in franchise history. The first is the fact Atlanta has had few great receivers who have stayed with the franchise long-term.

This has allowed players like Mohamed Sanu, Devonta Freeman, and Russell Gage to land inside the top-thirty. This speaks to how many targets not only Matt Ryan has had to deal with but past Atlanta quarterbacks as well.

Atlanta doesn’t have a rich history at the receiver position illustrated by the fact that Devonta Freeman is the 26th leading receiver in Atlanta history with only 2,015-receiving yards. Harry Douglas is another surprising name popping up inside the top twenty with 3,130-receiving yards making him the 15th most productive receiver in Falcons’ history.

The only current Atlanta Falcon to make the top-twenty is Calvin Ridley with  3,342-career receiving yards making him the 14th leading receiver in franchise history. Ridley, however, is suspended for the entire 2022 season and will have to apply for reinstatement in the 2023 season after gambling on NFL games during the 2021 season.

10. Wallace Francis- 3,695-receiving yards

9. Tony Gonzalez- 4,187-receiving yards

8. Alge Crumpler- 4,212-receiving yards

7. Michael Haynes- 4,220-receiving yards

6. Jim Mitchell- 4,358-receiving yards

5. Andre Rison- 5,633-receiving yards

4. Alfred Jenkins-6,267-receiving yards

Leaving three familiar names as Atlanta’s top three leading receivers in franchise history.
